Gene brought us his clean 1969 chevy truck and wanted it freshened up. We tore the truck completely apart and did a frame off build in 13 months. Along the way just some of the things we did were dropped springs and spindles, disc brakes all the way around, narrowed the rear to allow the deep dish 17×9″ steelies on the rear, installed a 420HP crate engine with 2 four barrels backed by a TKO 5 speed trans and rebuilt 12 bolt with posi unit. Keeping it cool inside with a vintage air set up and beautiful Classic Instruments gauge cluster. All chassis components were powdercoated and the frame shot gloss black. All hardware used was stainless along with stainless brake lines and fuel lines. All work including custom fabrication, paint, body, and assembly was done in house at Six Deuces Speed Shop.
We do short term jobs here at Six Deuces Speed Shop along with our full builds. This one was brought to us from Jerry Fountain. It had an early 90s big tire look with stock brakes and old wiring. We installed power steering, American autowire wiring harness, new wilwood brakes front and rear and added new shocks and sway bar. We also updated his wheels and tires with 17″ Weld wheels and Khumo tires. The car is powered by a big block crate engine with 3″ flowmaster exhaust and has a 12 bolt rear.
Testing templates in the 52 chevy custom here at six deuces. Custom fiberglass templates were made and will help the glass company create a nicer fitting windshield.
